Kett’s Heights is a steeply wooded site containing a medieval chapel, chalk workings and Victorian garden terraces and steps. It was the headquarters of Kett’s Rebellion in 1549 due to the panoramic viewpoint overlooking Norwich. The Friends of Kett's Heights are now gradually restoring the site. Explore the 1549 headquarters of Kett’s Rebellion, medieval remains and c.19th terraces. Follow the labyrinthine paths to one of the best panorama views overlooking Norwich.
Please be aware that there is a flight of steps from the entrance gate. There are also several sets of steep steps on the tour, although there is an alternative step free route to the viewpoint for those not able to negotiate the steep climbs. The site has some very steep slopes so please keep a watchful eye if you bring young children! They should be supervised by an adult at all times.
